Ocean with David Attenborough takes viewers on a breathtaking journey showing there is nowhere more vital for our survival, more full of life, wonder, or surprise, than the ocean. In the film the celebrated broadcaster and filmmaker reveals how his lifetime has coincided with the great age of ocean discovery. Through spectacular sequences featuring coral reefs, kelp forests and the open ocean, Attenborough shares why a healthy ocean keeps the entire planet stable and flourishing.
Stunning, immersive cinematography showcases the wonder of life under the seas and exposes the realities and challenges facing our ocean as never-before-seen, from destructive fishing techniques to mass coral reef bleaching. Yet the story is one of optimism, with Attenborough pointing to inspirational stories from around the world to deliver his greatest message: the ocean can recover to a glory beyond anything anyone alive has ever seen.

Audience FEEDBACK in Fairfax, VA
“Ocean was both staggeringly beautiful and deeply distressing — it swept me between awe and anger— yet always offering hope in ocean protection areas which seem to offer remarkably swift opportunities for regeneration! The panelists were terrific — each offered different counsel and advice on water and chemical protection and mitigation practices!” —Kathleen Brown
“Just remarkable. Sound, music and Attenborough’s voice of such authority. Ocean was so captivating, a thrill ride, moving between despair, and then to remarkable regeneration and restoration of animal and plant life in our global oceans. I’m now committed to personally advocating for our participation in the global effort to restore and create many more areas of preservation in our oceans worldwide. We must have all of our world see this movie. It’s unforgettable!”

I’ve seen many environmental films, and this is one of the best; not only because I admire and follow David Attenborough, but the revelations of how we can save and protect oceans and ocean life at risk.
