Every inch of biodiversity is vital for our survival. Even in urban centers where there are only very small spaces available for nature, we have to strive to make it biodiverse. Each insect is part of the food chain. When birds fly south, they have to stop for food somewhere. When no food is available, they perish. E.O. Wilson points out that: “We should preserve every scrap of biodiversity as priceless while we learn to use it and come to understand what it means to humanity.”
